A week ago today. About this time we got to see Adler in recovery. He was in a pressurized room for us to be able to come in with positive Covid test results. Aaron and I both could see him for a bit and then Aaron was escorted out of the hospital and Adler and I went up to his room and there we stayed for 4 days. Unable to leave. I couldn’t even open the door. Which we were so thankful that I was able to remain with him. Adler was retested that night and his results were positive the next morning. His recovery began immediately as he sat up and was in the chair the very next day. His arms working good and walking around the room a bit. Everything went amazingly well all things considered and his doctor was super pleased with how it looked after his x-ray and CT!! They were so pleased. As were we. Healing and recovery at home is uncomfortable but tolerable. This kid has endured more in his 11 years than most will in their entire lives. We are thankful. Hopeful and grateful but man this shit is hard. Cancer is so hard. No easy way to live it. At ALL. Follow up appointments on the 18th. Then back to the grind of MRIs and echocardiograms and oncology stuff. Ugh. We. Need. A vacation!!! 💙💙💙
