There are still good humans. The beautiful owner of Mom Made Foods reached out to me last week via Adler’s Facebook page about their new line of sandwiches. She was the one I got in touch with the first time Adler was on chemo as he wasn’t eating much at all but loved their meatballs and Target stopped carrying them. I about cried right there in the frozen food isle. So, I contacted them and she responded with boxes of meatballs for him!!! And she has kept up with him since. This time she told me to make room in my freezer and have Adler pick out what he would like from their website and she’d send it to him! Our freezer drawer is full!!! Thank you so so much. This is truly a beautiful gift!!!!!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

September is Hydrocephalus Awareness Month. You can clearly see Adlers shunt in this picture. The shunt was placed in an emergency as Adler had 3 times the normal amount of water on his brain. He was drowning. There is no cure. There is only brain surgery to fix it. He has a VP programable shunt set at 1.5 to properly drain the excess water through a tube to his abdominal area that has extra for growth. It’s expelled naturally by his body. Luckily he’s not needed a revision…..yet….. without that shunt, he would be dead. So if you know a hydro warrior, give them a social distance high five!!!! 💙💙💧💧 #adlerbear #hydrocephalus #hydrocephalusawarenessmonth

Up with the storm and with Adler. Nausea, diarrhea and back pain. A lovely way to start the day. No fainting this time thankfully but he was up well over an hour. We are both back in bed but not without worry. I sat with him until he was comfortable in his bed and I had the bowl right by him and his happy tummy oil rubbed on him too. We often have some interesting talks during these times because what else can you do??? We talk about video games like Fortnite skins and how MODOK on the new Avengers game doesn’t look right which leads into Marvel superhero and villain talks. “On a scale of 1-10 how much do you really love Loki?”. A full 10 was my answer. Then it’s school times and his friends. We talk about life and goals and day dreams. We talk about hospital trips and past times he’s gotten sick. Then we wrap it up with some YouTube talk and of course, Disney. He told me yesterday that he only really has me and his Dad to talk to. I hugged him when he said that. Cancer can be a lonely road to walk. I cancelled his therapy today since he’s absolute worn out. I don’t mind hearing the rain as I lay here hoping he gets some good sleep and that our day will be less eventful later!!
