Welcome to Our Blog

Up with the storm and with Adler. Nausea, diarrhea and back pain. A lovely way to start the day. No fainting this time thankfully but he was up well over an hour. We are both back in bed but not without worry. I sat with him until he was comfortable in his bed and I had the bowl right by him and his happy tummy oil rubbed on him too. We often have some interesting talks during these times because what else can you do??? We talk about video games like Fortnite skins and how MODOK on the new Avengers game doesn’t look right which leads into Marvel superhero and villain talks. “On a scale of 1-10 how much do you really love Loki?”. A full 10 was my answer. Then it’s school times and his friends. We talk about life and goals and day dreams. We talk about hospital trips and past times he’s gotten sick. Then we wrap it up with some YouTube talk and of course, Disney. He told me yesterday that he only really has me and his Dad to talk to. I hugged him when he said that. Cancer can be a lonely road to walk. I cancelled his therapy today since he’s absolute worn out. I don’t mind hearing the rain as I lay here hoping he gets some good sleep and that our day will be less eventful later!!

Boris is necessary!!! Even on a quick one on one Zoom with his teacher who graciously dropped off more homework that he can work on at his pace. His teacher was here on Monday as well. He does weekly home visits to keep us up to date! And thank you to Ivy Warner Vogel for the art paper drop off and a social distance visit with the boys!! Adler was thrilled to see them both!!!! He perked up a bit for the visits but then right back to the couch. Chronic fatigue and chronic pain while on treatment……it’s a lot!! But we appreciate the love from our Trinity family!!!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙
