Then and now. It doesn’t get easier. You don’t get used to it even if you think you have. Treatment is treatment no matter the delivery. Medication going into him to stop the tumors from growing and as it does it’s job, it wreaks havoc on his body. We’ve now been so “lucky” to witness it once and now twice. Grateful for his life but saddened by the words “quality of”. Thankful for those that aide in keeping him here all while trying to keep it together by sewn threads worn by time and anger. Anguish and joy holding hands skipping down the cancer life path whistling Disney tunes and repeatedly saying Fuck Cancer and cranking up the imagination to drown out the reality. Happy Sunday!! (Sarcasm heavy).

Adler had another rough early morning. No PT today because of said rough morning. I let him sleep. And sleep he did. Woke up about 12:30. I called Lurie leaving a direct and concerned message as these episodes are getting closer together. Got a call back. Dehydration, lack of intake, cumulative chemo and possibly a cortisol issue with his adrenal insufficiency…….he goes back in a couple weeks so as usual, I’ll keep an eye on him and if anything changes/worsens we’ll go sooner. So. He’s been sitting with me watching Alice In Wonderland and said three times, so far, how tired he is. The poor kid. Ugh. Happy Friday right????
