And the next day we would discover he couldn’t use his arms. It would take him over a year to recover and then need spinal fusion and decompression surgery because of this surgery. Both live saving. We are here in Orlando for the pain management program for a month. He’s done with week one. We are beyond proud of how he’s doing. He’s taken charge of his destiny with his pain. He is determined and fully committed to getting “better”. We walked around Disney Springs tonight after dinner. We have done it a couple times now. It’s his physical activity for the day. He’s been in a wheelchair for most times at Disney. Today, he walked. Last night he walked. Tomorrow when we go see Black Widow, he will walk. My emotions are all over the place with this but proud tops them all. Even with all the planning, all the stress of getting here and getting settled, the fucking insurance issues and the pain, so much pain. Relief is in the making and HE is doing it!!!!!!!! He is doing it. He has defied the odds more than once and now he’s taking control of his pain. Damn right he’s getting a good dinner out here and there and some fun along the way!! Cheers with Shirley Temples, chocolate milk and Coca-Cola tonight for Adler!!!!! Bold As Love, always!!! 🅰️🌈💙⚓

Jenga and jams tonight. He’s been rocking the program and all the take home work. Exercises twice a day after his 3 hours of PT, OT and the pain psychologist along with his physical activity and leisure activities with and without screen time. Also pushing water and healthy eating which that isn’t the issue, food itself can sometimes be a struggle because of chemo twice and the pain and appetite don’t go together. And. He has a wake up time and bed time too. He’s not really struggling with any of it but being sore. I for sure thought a bed time would be tough but he’s ready and willing because he’s tired!! It’s hard work!!! Is the pain better….not exactly but with the strict schedule his focus is elsewhere. He’s still had headaches every morning but he pushes through it. I admire him for his tenacity and his grit. He truly is a badass and he wants to reach his goals. And. He will!!!!
