A couple shots from yesterday. He made a wish before we left and as we sat in the beautiful lobby he told me what he wished for. “I wished for no cancer. It’s so generic. I’ve done it with every wish. It never comes true.” And he stopped talking and I didn’t know what to say back. I did my best planning and networking with our new Disney friends/family to make sure that everything was amazing. Our buddy Mark made sure to give his all to make the pixie dust rain on us and he more than delivered. It was epic. Adler even said it was. Overwhelmed with emotion and generosity I cried a few times. The people that gave time and love to us….wow….just wow! But I can’t grant that one wish. I can’t make that on thing happen and this morning over breakfast we chatted. Back in Chicago at the condo with no doctors or hospitals to go to. We talked about the trip and he said very truthfully that he never stopped thinking about cancer. That his pain was daily and he just toughed it out for the sake of the trip and that it never goes away, ever. His pain is constantly there. Which I mean, we know but still, to hear him say it……It never leaves his mind, even at Disney and that broke my heart. Though we did all collectively agree it was a more than needed break. A fairy tale time away from reality and we can’t wait for next time whenever that may be. Even with pain and cancer, it is and will always be, our happiest place!!! 💓

He hit the Disney wall!! A lil headache (he’s had headaches off and on) this morning and his legs have been hurting quite a bit the last couple days. So. We canceled our day today and I am finishing up laundry (so awesome to pack clean clothes since we had a washer and dryer in our room) and beginning the packing process. Ugh. I hate this part. So many beautiful people met and memories made this trip. I have a very long thank you letter to write when we get home!!!

This guy is an angel. We met Mark by chance two years ago when we ran away after Adlers cervical spinal tumor had grown. We were leaving Hollywood Studios and just happened to see him and I said we had a great day and thank you. Just a guy dressed in nice clothes with a name badge, who just happened to be the head of security there, became our friend that day. He stopped and chatted with us and wanted to know more about Adler and where we were from and what not. He then proceeded to intently listen to me tell Adler’s story and next thing I know we had fast passes and he asked for our itinerary for the week and hooked us up with daily extra special attention!! It was so awesome. And so random but he’s like family now. We kept in touch over the next two years. I kept him up to date on Adler and as soon as we knew we wanted to run away again and why, he began Operation Adler!!! Everything extra special that’s happened this trip was because of him. Emails and texts and beautiful time, effort, and love went into it. All by him. He worked with new special friends at each park and at his new home Disney Springs, to make the magic happen. We adore him. He’s part of our family now as well as our new Disney friend we met this time around!! We damn near have a team here behind us. It’s brought me to tears many times this trip and I don’t want it to end. But the friendships will remain and the connections will continue. Thankful doesn’t even cut it with how we feel. Graced by his generosity and love is just beyond appreciated. This has been the most amazingly Magical trip EVER!!!! We love you Mark!! 😇🥰❤
